One of the key features to the RP-2000 MK2 is its direct drive. As opposed to belt-driven turntables, this model transfers its motor force directly to the drive hub. The result is a higher torque, faster-generated power on the turntable’s precision-engineered platter, and minimal wow and flutter. An adjustable pitch control (ranging +/- 8%) enables more fine-tuning of your pitch. The RP-2000 MK2 comes with the high-quality OM Black pick-up (handmade in Denmark by Ortofon) pre-fitted to a headshell ready for immediate playback.
The RP-2000 MK2 is designed for optimal stability and enhanced vibration isolation. The turntable’s sturdy construction includes optimized damping as well as shock-absorbing feet. A statically-balanced S-shaped tone arm boasts a hydraulic lift and anti-skating mechanism. In addition, a universal SME connection enables a variety of pick-up cartridges to be connected.
The MK2 boasts a refreshed top panel of deep black, highlighted with metallic buttons that add durability and beauty to this turntable’s updated aesthetic. The buttons control start/stop and speed settings. The RP-2000 MK2 also achieves clear haptic feedback via its improved touch upon hit functionality.
