city-theatrical-2186
City Theatrical 2186 Drop-In Iris For Strand SL Spotlights

This iris is built for lighting designers, master electricians, and production crews running Strand SL ellipsoidal reflector spotlights who need beam size to be adjustable instead of fixed. It installs by dropping into the fixture, so it fits into rep plots, rental inventory, and touring packages without modifying the unit.

In theatre, dance, corporate events, and live production, beam size often changes between cues, scenes, or venues. An iris lets the operator tighten a pool of light on a performer or set piece, then open it back up from the handle at the fixture. Compared with fixed-size masks or custom cut metal, one iris covers a continuous range of sizes, which keeps fewer loose accessories in the road case and on the shop shelf. That flexibility matters in rental houses and multipurpose venues, where the same fixtures are re-plotted for every show.

The same drop-in iris concept is offered by City Theatrical for other popular fixtures, so a venue with mixed inventory can keep one accessory style across its units. Verify the fixture model before ordering, since each iris is sized to a specific fixture.
