Akai MPX8 Mobile SD Sample Player

The MPX8 Mobile SD Sample Player from Akai Professional gives you the tools you need to give a great musical performance, whether you’re live on stage or recording in the studio. Its compact size makes it super-portable and great for artists on the move, while the heavy-duty build is specifically designed to take the punishment of intense use.

MPX8’s eight backlit, velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads ensure precision control over your sound for an expressive, dynamic performance. These pads feel great while delivering fast, convenient one-touch access to a nearly unlimited selection of sounds, shots, stabs, and drops.

With its included sample kit editor, the MPX8 Sample Player makes it easy to arrange, tune, and add reverb to samples on your Mac or PC, then effortlessly load them onto the player. Use the drag-and-drop functionality to load and assign samples to the pads from almost any standard SD or SDHC card (sold separately). Also included with the MPX8 is Akai Pro’s free Loop Library download, as well as a large built-in sample library onboard the player itself. This built-in library is particularly useful for live performances where you may need to improvise sounds or make adjustments on the fly, such as in front of a crowd or on a radio show. It also expedites your workflow during in-studio production, making it easier to tweak your project without getting bogged down in technical fixes.

With optimized connectivity that links the MPX8 to your computer, you can control everything from music software to outboard MIDI gear. This sample player features USB MIDI and standard MIDI inputs and outputs. Included with the MPX8 is a USB cable and 1/8”-to-MIDI adapter, so you have all the accessories you need to get playing right out of the box.
