The C562 CM from AKG is a professional boundary microphone for permanent installation in ceilings, walls, tables, and stages. Its flush-mountable design prevents comb filter effects or other interference that is a common problem when a microphone is positioned in close proximity to an acoustically-reflective surface. This means you can fearlessly install the C562 CM in a desk, table, wall, or ceiling, and makes it a great choice for incorporating into a permanent sound system for live recording or surveillance.
Low self-noise—high headroom. Boasting high sensitivity for a wide area of coverage, the C562 CM is characterized by excellent clarity and a consistent pickup anywhere around the mic. The mic has an approximately hemispherical polar pattern for enhanced speech intelligibility. When installed on a reflective surface such as a table or desk, the mic’s sensitivity is dB higher than that of a conventional omnidirectional microphone. A built-in omnidirectional pressure transducer renders the C 562 CM less susceptible to mechanical and wind noise than a cardioid boundary microphone.
The low-profile, cylindrical design of the C562 CM makes it easy to place in a range of environments without taking up too much room. It’s ideal for professional audio setups in businesses, such as board rooms, conference rooms, office spaces, and multi-use areas where you need a versatile miking solution. The installed result is inconspicuous: the included XLR phantom power adapter connecting to the mic cable via a miniature connector, rendering installation holes smaller than the diameter of the phantom power adapter and achieving a more “invisible” mounting solution.
Included in the box with the C562 CM Flush-Mount Boundary Microphone are a 20-inch (50cm) cable with mini jack plug, a phantom power adapter with XLR connector, and the mounting hardware necessary for permanent installation.
Please note: In order for the microphone to function properly, the microphone body should not make contact with any grounded metal parts. The C562 CM requires a phantom power source providing 9 to 52 V as per IEC 61938.

About Boundary Microphones at Sound Productions
Optimize your audio with Sound Productions’ assortment of boundary microphones! A boundary microphone (sometimes called a “pressure zone microphone”) is comprised of one or more capsules built into a microphone that mounts on a flat surface such as a table, desk, wall, or ceiling. The low-profile design of most boundary mics makes them easy to place in a range of environments without taking up too much space, while wired and wireless options of different models give you the flexibility to place or reposition the mic as space allows.
A great choice for situations where you have more than one sound source you want to capture, boundary microphones are ideal for professional audio setups in businesses, such as board rooms, conference rooms, and office spaces. For instance, a boundary mic makes communication easier in group meetings where multiple people are collaborating. Boundary microphones work well for any multi-use environment where versatile miking is key.
