Audio-Technica’s innovative and versatile AT4050ST Stereo Condenser Microphone is an ideal mic for capturing live sound in broadcast, professional recording, sound reinforcement, and other live-sound applications where capturing realistic audio is critical.
This side-address condenser features independent cardioid and figure-eight elements that are configured in a Mid-Side arrangement. This innovative stereo condenser enables you to choose from Left and Right stereo outputs or Mid-Side signals for later manipulation. The AT4050ST also offers the choice to switch selection of Mid-Side mode and two internally matrixed stereo modes.
The AT4050ST features transformerless circuitry, which eliminates almost all instances of low-frequency distortion and delivers superior correlation of high-speed transients. This mic also features an integrated 80 Hz high-pass filter and a 10 dB pad switch.
Dual-diaphragm capsules maintain precise polar pattern definition across the AT4050ST’s full frequency range. The vapor-deposited gold diaphragms are 2 microns thick and undergo a five-step aging process for a consistently remarkable performance that will serve you well for years.
The open acoustical environment of this microphone’s symmetrical housing assembly helps minimize unwanted internal reflections. Rounding out the AT4050 is an included custom AT8449a shock mount for 5/8"-27 threaded stands that allows for even better isolation from handling noise, a microphone dust cover to keep it clean between use, and an R1 protective carrying case for safe transport and secure storage. Boasting certification from the METAlliance (Music Engineering and Technology Alliance), the AT4050ST’s state-of-the-art design and manufacturing techniques meet Audio-Technica’s rigorous standards of consistency and reliability, ensuring you get great quality and longevity out of your audio equipment.
