Create professional sound quality in high-end broadcast and production use with Audio-Technica’s BP4027 stereo shotgun microphone. Independent line-cardioid and bidirectional (figure-eight) polar patterns are both configured in the microphone, changed with switch-selectable internal matrixing. A compact and lightweight design makes this microphone great for camera-mount use. Based on models originally developed for broadcasting the 2000 Olympic Games, this mic offers an array of features for professional sound reproduction.
Determining whether to get a microphone creating highly focused sound or one capturing more ambient sound is not a choice that needs to be made with the BP4027. Sound engineers have the option to select a line-cardioid or bidirectional polar pattern via the microphone’s internal matrixing system. The line-cardioid pattern captures sound in front of the mic, while the bidirectional pattern uses a figure-8 design to capture sounds equally all around the mic. Discrete Mid-Side signals can also be enabled for later manipulation.
Another switch enabling fine-tuned sound control through frequency. Opt for flat response or low-frequency roll-off to help control undesired ambient noise as the environment requires. As a condenser mic, phantom power from 11V to 52V is required for operation.
Protective elements outside the microphone preserve everything that creates the superior sound reproduction that makes this mic an excellent professional investment. Construction is rugged yet lightweight enough for easy camera-mount use. Included accessories adapt how the shotgun mic can be mounted and protected from undesired ambient noise of wind and pops.
