The Duplicator 4K is loaded with 25 built in SD card recorders, making it like two recorders in one. Record to all 25 cards at a time in duplication mode, or use long form recording styles. When recording to all 25 cards at once, 25 copies of the event are available the moment recording stops. The Duplicator 4K is an excellent choice for live music concerts, theatrical performances, weddings, conferences, and sporting events. Long form recording options on the Duplicator 4K make it a great fit for broadcast program logging and security footage.
Choose to create your recordings in H.264 or H.265 copies. H.264 files are somewhat larger and less efficient than H.265, but H.264 is the most common format for HD playback on big screen TVs and web presenting. H.265 files have become the new standard for Ultra HD delivery, which is growing in popularity every year.
In duplication mode, simultaneously record the same content onto all 25 SD cards, or if you need more copies connect multiple units together. Plug the SDI output from your camera into the duplicator and start shooting, duplication mode automatically activates. Duplication mode is perfect for video production of live events – the copies of the event are ready to sell or be watched when the event ends.
For long form recording styles, the Duplicator 4K has single disk mode and single disk overwrite mode. In single disk mode, when one card is filled recording automatically continues on the next card until all cards are filled, or you add more empty cards. Depending on the cards in use, you can record for days without stopping: 24 hours a day for 4 days with 16GB cards, 24 hours a day for 66 days with 256GB cards. Single disk overwrite mode is similar since recording continues from one card to the next. However, when all the SD cards are filled, it clears the oldest card for truly nonstop recording.
