The DPA 4061 d:screet Miniature Omni Lavalier Microphone is built to be nearly invisible and highly durable, perfect for close-miking instruments, presentations, TV and movies. Kevlar-reinforced cable relief allows these mics to withstand the continuous twisting, bending and pulling that comes with everyday use. Two anodized stainless-steel grids are supplied so the microphone’s acoustic response can be modified. The pre-fitted Soft Boost Grid creates a natural-sounding atmosphere with a 3dB soft boost at 8-20 kHz, and is designed for use when the mic is mounted on the performer’s head. In applications where the microphone’s chest-placement is preferred, the High Boost Grid adds a 10 dB soft boost around 12 kHz. These features have earned the series an award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board, and made the 4060 Series the preferred lavalier mic for director Ridley Scott and other industry professionals.
This microphone is acoustically identical to the 4060 but its sensitivity is adjusted to accommodate higher sound pressure levels (SPLs). The 4061 miniature lav mic can handle SPL up to 144 dB before clipping. Also less sensitive than the 4060, this mic is ideally suited for hidden applications, such as being mounted to an actor's forehead. When mounted in that location, sound pressure level is about 10 dB louder than at lapel mic placement.
Part of the first series of miniature microphones developed by DPA, this lav mic uses technology previously only found in hearing aids and measurement microphones. This ultra-tiny mic exhibits a highly accurate omnidirectional pattern, so it does not need to be aimed directly at the sound source to capture high-quality sound. The omnidirectional pattern also makes the mic less sensitive to pop and wind noise, making it great in applications with a remote or damped sound source.
Personalize the 4061 mic by choosing from a variety of available colors and connectors and amplifier options. This wireless lav mic uses CORE technology. CORE uses the same capsule as Legacy, and makes improvements in minimizing distorition and significantly expands dynamic range up to 14 dB (capsule dependent).
