Electro-Voice TX1122FM 12-Inch Passive Stage Monitor

The TX1122FM from Electro-Voice is a 12-inch, passive stage monitor ideal for use on small- to medium-sized stages where high-quality vocal and instrument applications are required in a lightweight package. This monitor boasts an innovative combination of transducers, rugged enclosure, and crossover technology to deliver compact, yet capable performance.

The TX1122FM is part of Electro-Voice’s Tour-X Series. TX floor monitors are designed to complement all full-range cabinets in this family with consistent voicing. The recessed input panel with dual NL4 connectors is located on the rear of the enclosure, which keeps the connectors hidden and away from the performers on stage.

Its internally-braced enclosure uses a combination of plywood and MDF and utilizes EV’s patent-pending Signal Synchronized Transducers—these align the woofer and compression driver by locating them on separate baffles and integrate a low distortion port between the baffles. This results in the acoustic centers of the woofer and compression driver being closer together, synchronizing arrival time; the voice coils of the compression driver and woofer are in the same plane, achieving linear phase response; and the size of both baffles are smaller than a single baffle; resulting in a smaller footprint. To top it off, the enclosure is finished with a black EVCoat for maximum strength while remaining lightweight.

Building on Electro-Voice’s years of experience and expertise in designing premium-quality loudspeakers, the Tour X series is a unique, functional package of pro audio performance, versatility, and aesthetics. Each model of the TX series utilizes the DH3, which is a high-output 1.25-inch titanium compression driver and is coupled to a Constant Directivity 90° x 50° horn. This results in a smooth response and excellent pattern control in short to medium-throw applications. The integrated SMX2120 12-inch woofer has an FEA-optimized magnet structure and shorting ring for very low distortion and maximum intelligibility at high SPL levels. The crossover uses steep octave slopes with equalization for a smooth response in vocal range, extended HF, and a protection circuit for long-term reliability.
