The Si Expression 2 from Soundcraft is a 16-channel digital mixer. It features 16 recallable mic preamps plus 4 line inputs, 4 internal stereo FX returns, AES in, and a 64x64 expansion slot offering more than enough scope to use every one of the 66 input processing channels. Every input processing channel has dedicated processing for high pass filter, input delay, gate, compressor, and four band EQ whilst keeping it under control is a comprehensive automation system augmented with four mute groups and FaderGlow™ to light the way so you are never lost.

Flexibility, power, reliability, and user-friendliness—Soundcraft’s series of Si Expression mixing consoles has claimed a place of renown in the world of audio mixing, boasting innovative DSP, premium components, and stringent manufacturing to deliver a line of cost-effective, professional-caliber digital consoles. Available in three models (16, 24, and 32 channels), each Si Expression console boasts the same line of features and functionality, differentiated simply by the number of faders and local mic amps.

All Si Expression consoles have busses, output processing, and connectivity. The 14 aux/group mixes can be configured as 14 mono mixes, 8 mono plus 6 stereo mixes, or almost anything in between. The 4 matrix mixes can be mono or stereo as needed. Four more mix busses are dedicated to the Lexicon FX processors to provide a variety of sounds, adjustable parameters, and dedicated tap-tempo keys. Each bus mix features a compressor, 4 band EQ, BSS graphic EQ, and delay.

Effects are hardware-based, ensuring that even the most demanding FX programs won’t interfere with other functions of the mixer, such as settings for dynamics, EQs, filters, delays, and GEQs. Control is streamlined via the control surface’s comprehensive, yet intuitive layout with dedicated controls for every parameter, a row of global mode encoders, and an easy-to-use color touchscreen.

Each model’s connectivity includes 16 balanced line outputs, a headphone monitor out, an AES out, and a 64x64 option slot. Other onboard I/O and expansion options let you seamlessly integrate the Si Expression with other components to create a customized audio setup to meet your needs. This series is compatible with any of the ViSi Connect™ Si series option cards including MADI USB Combo, BSS Digital Audio Bus (BLU Link), Dante™, CAT5 or optical MADI, AVIOM™, CobraNet™, and others. The MADI card interfaces to multi-track recording systems or plug-in systems like the Soundcraft Realtime Rack™, as well as enables linking to any of the Soundcraft or Studer stageboxes to extend the I/O power and flexibility.
