Yamaha’s DTX-MULTI 12 electronic percussion pad works well on its own or integrated into an existing percussion setup. Play the 12 drum pads with hands or sticks to access over 1,000 drum and percussion voices as well as synth, sound effects and loops. Voices and playing feel are highly customizable with multilayering of each pad, sound controls, strike sensitivity adjustment, and more. An app dedicated to this percussion pad makes using all these controls intuitive and convenient.
Percussion pad consists of 12 pads of different sizes at two levels. Split-level design lowers the chance of accidentally striking the wrong pad. The 6 central pads are 11cm square – the perfect size for hand or stick strikes – and the smaller pads are dedicated to functions typically used less frequently. Each pad can trigger up to 4 layers, and each layer can be separately tailored to your preference. For example, the snare pad can be changed to a different voice with up to 4 voices being available simultaneously (one voice in each layer). With over 1,200 built-in sounds in world percussion, drum set, electronic drums, keyboard percussion, mallets, synth styles and more, this electronic pad can create just about any performance you can imagine.
Playing feel and response are natural with accurate strike feel and polyphonic aftertouch in each pad. Further customize sound for your most comfortable experience. Up to 10 user trigger selections can be defined, offering several sensitivity levels for hand or stick performance. Built-in sequencer and effects along with loops, sound effects and control panel features give creative expression over sound adjustments to the drummer. The control panel is easily accessible, which also means it can be natural to whack on accident, so the panel can be locked. Pad loops are indicated by red LEDs, quickly identifying which pad is being looped for simple loop on/off capability.
Incredibly adaptable, this percussion pad can work alone or with other equipment. Integrate this electronic pad into an acoustic set for versatile playing options, connect with up to 5 other pads, or play it on its own –the DTX-MULTI 12 delivers quality sound no matter the setup. USB connectivity works with memory sticks and hard drivers, and a second USB port enables MIDI communication with PC or Mac when using a Yamaha driver (sold separately). Separate MIDI in and out sockets are also available on the rear panel. The pad is powered by a 12V external adaptor, and external signals can be fed to headphones or main output. Add the DTX M 12 Touch app to streamline the controls and effects in the percussion pad.
