Over 1,000 voices are accessible on the MX88 synth. Full concert grand piano sound samples are the same grand piano from the Motif series, delivering a powerful focused low-end, detailed midrange, and pristine highs. An optimized touch curve combines GHS action with the full concert grand piano for a high level of expression, realism, and dynamics. In addition to acoustic voices, there are a wide variety of classic tine and reed electric pianos, retro tonewheel organs, and clav sounds. Realistic sampling of strings, woodwinds, and brass offer instrument options. Drum kits, tonewheel organs, basses, electric and acoustic guitars give lots of tools for music production.

The sound engine consists of 8 elements. Elements can be layered for a thickened sound or zoned so a different element plays in different parts of the keyboard. Switching between elements by velocity is also possible to provide extreme dynamics, and randomizing elements provides subtle variation or experimental sound. VCM models circuits down to analog component level for authentic vintage effects and high-end studio signal processing style.

Connect this synthesizer into various setups. Record and playback stereo audio to and from computer or iOS device with the USB audio and MIDI capabilities. Not only can it connect to a DAW, the MX88 is a dedicated control surface when using onboard transport controls with your DAW and interacting with plug-in parameters via control knobs. Interact with popular synths from built-in Remote Control templates and use the 16-channel MIDI interface to utilize the MX88 as a keyboard controller and tone generator.
