Now more than ever, people are communicating with audiences, friends, and colleagues online. Whether you’re a hobbyist, professional, or somewhere in between, the YCM01U USB microphone was designed to give you and your audience a natural and comfortable listening experience that adds an extra touch of professionalism to your streaming or remote working environment.

Creating your own streaming or telework setup has never been easier. No driver installation is required — simply connect the included USB cable to a computer or iOS device and you’re ready to go. Operating the YCM01U is just as simple, with intuitive volume control of your voice and the person/people you’re communicating with assigned to a single dial on the microphone body. Headphones/earphones can be connected directly to the stereo mini jack on the back of the main unit. *Some devices may require an additional adapter.

The YCM01U’s capsule is a unidirectional or “cardioid” condenser type, capable of capturing the full texture and power of your voice while simultaneously conveying the most subtle nuances. The cardioid design suppresses unwanted ambient noise from the rear of the microphone, creating a clear and comfortable sonic experience for listeners that allows them focus on what you’re saying.

The head of the YCM01U is decorated with thick lines to create a modern yet nostalgic look reminiscent of iconic condenser microphones that have become a staple of professional audio environments the world over. Available in white or black, the YCM01U looks great as a desktop microphone, adding flair to your room's interior décor.

In addition to the USB cable, the YCM01U comes with a microphone stand. You can also store and carry the microphone in the included microphone pouch without worrying about damaging the unit.

About Condenser Microphones at Sound Productions

Achieve professional polish to your studio sound with condenser microphones from Sound Productions. A condenser microphone uses a capacitor that converts sound vibrations into electric currents. It is characterized by increased sound sensitivity than a dynamic mic, enabling it to capture more natural, detailed audio from vocals and instruments.

Use a large-diaphragm condenser mic (sometimes called a “capacitor mic”) to optimize the sound of vocals, acoustic guitar, and ambient room audio. Alternatively, choose a small diaphragm condenser mic (or “pencil mic”) for acoustic instruments including guitars, classical instruments, cymbals, and drum overheads. The smaller capsule and lightweight build make it easy to place perfectly in almost any miking application, while the consistent polar pattern makes a pair of small-diaphragm condenser mics the perfect choice for stereo miking.

Compared to the other popular option of dynamic microphones, condenser mics are louder, pick up a wider frequency response, and enjoy an expansive dynamic range—all aspects that make them ideal for studio recording.
