Powersoft Mezzo: Proven at Scale

Big sound does not need a big rack. The Powersoft Mezzo Series packs Powersoft's reliability and build quality into a half-rack install amplifier with built-in DSP, one-press Auto Setup, and Dante and AES67 networking on AD models. Whether it is a meeting room, a classroom, a restaurant, or a full multi-room system, Mezzo scales to fit, and our certified Account Managers can help you pick the right model for the job.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the Powersoft Mezzo Series, and which model should I pick?

Mezzo is Powersoft's compact, half-rack install amplifier family. It includes 12 models: six 2-channel and six 4-channel. The 322 and 324 deliver 320 W total, while the 602 and 604 deliver 600 W total. Pick channel count based on how many zones or speaker groups you need to drive, then pick power based on your load. Not sure? Our certified Account Managers can size it with you.

  • How does Auto Setup and the included mounting kit speed up an install?

One press of the rear panel button applies a high pass filter, limiter, and gain setting to match the connected speaker, so you get a solid starting point fast. The included mounting kit covers rack, wall, and ceiling installs, plus rubber feet for flat surfaces. Powersoft also offers an optional Plenum Mount AC Adapter, and the 320 W models can be mounted in air handling spaces like double ceilings and wall boxes. Check Powersoft's plenum quick guide for the requirements on your job.

  • What is the difference between the Mezzo A, A+, and AD versions?

All three include onboard DSP. The A is the DSP version, the A+ adds AES67 support, and the AD adds both Dante and AES67. AD models also include a built-in Gigabit Ethernet switch with dual ports, so you can share the network connection without adding extra hardware. If your system is already on a Dante network, go AD.

  • Can one amplifier cover multiple classrooms or zones on a campus?

Yes. The Mezzo 324 AD gives you four channels in a half-rack chassis, so one amp can feed several small zones such as classrooms, a library, or a hallway. Because AD models use Dante and AES67, audio can travel over your network instead of long analog runs, and Powersoft's remote management tools let your AV team keep an eye on things without walking to every closet.

  • Is a compact Dante amplifier a good fit for a church sound system?

It can be a great fit for the spaces around the sanctuary. Mezzo is built for small and medium sized installs, which makes it a natural choice for lobbies, hallways, classrooms, fellowship halls, and overflow rooms. On an AD model, the amp joins your existing Dante network, so you can send audio anywhere on the campus, and the onboard DSP means no extra processor to buy, rack, and configure.

  • How does Power Sharing work on the Mezzo 324 AD?

Each of the four channels is rated for 80 W at 2, 4, or 8 ohms. With Power Sharing, the amp's 320 W total can be spread across channels, so a single channel can reach up to 320 W at 4 or 8 ohms when the other channels are lightly loaded. That gives you extra headroom for the moments that need it. Under the hood, the DSP runs 32 bit floating point processing with 2.5 ms fixed latency and up to 100 ms of delay per output for time alignment.
