The Q-SYS QIO-ML2x2 is a compact network audio I/O expander designed for AV integrators and system designers who need to add mic and line-level connectivity to an existing Q-SYS ecosystem without increasing the footprint of core processing hardware. By offloading local I/O to a dedicated network node, it supports distributed, scalable topologies suited to installed sound, conference room integration, and multi-room AV systems where signal sources are physically remote from the DSP core.
The QIO-ML2x2 connects via gigabit Q-LAN and supports Power over Ethernet, which simplifies cabling in installations where AC power at the endpoint is inconvenient. For denser deployments, up to four QIO expanders can be daisy-chained on a single network run using local DC power, reducing infrastructure requirements in multi-zone installs. Microphone detection on inputs provides real-time monitoring and enables usage statistics and failure notifications through Q-SYS Reflect Enterprise Manager, giving operations teams visibility that passive I/O solutions cannot provide.
Integration is handled entirely within Q-SYS Designer Software via drag-and-drop placement, keeping the QIO-ML2x2 consistent with the broader Q-SYS workflow rather than requiring separate configuration tools. The unit mounts surface, wall, or rack in a quarter-rack 1RU form factor, making it adaptable across furniture, millwork, and rack-based installations.
