Stage Monitors

  • Perform with confidence knowing—not guessing—that you sound your best with stage monitors from Sound Productions. Stage monitors are loudspeakers that are aimed at a musician or vocalist, giving the performer up-to-the-second insight into how they sound to an audience. Also called monitor speakers, floor monitors, wedge speakers, or foldbacks, stage monitors are crucial to enhancing the sound of any live performance.

Don’t let your unique sound get lost in reverberated reflections or overpowered by room noise. A good stage monitor system gives each member of the band individual control over what they hear, so they can customize their mix to fit how they best play or sing. Although this is a great asset for groups of musicians and speakers who are sharing the stage, monitors are also ideal for single-artist applications, from solo singers or musicians to public speakers.

Stage monitors are a key component of any stage’s sound system. This includes concert halls, clubs, theaters, auditoriums, houses of worship, and any other performance or presentation venue. Discover the perfect way to hear your mix with SoundPro’s assortment of stage monitors. Our top brands include dB Technologies, Electro-Voice, Yamaha, and more!

Stage monitors, commonly called wedge monitors, are floor-mounted speakers angled up toward performers so they can hear themselves and the mix while playing. SoundPro carries powered and passive wedge monitors from JBL, QSC, Electro-Voice, and RCF. Wedges remain a practical, lower-cost monitoring solution for smaller stages and teams not ready to move to in-ear monitoring, and many worship teams run a hybrid setup: wedges for drums and stationary positions, IEMs for vocalists and mobile performers.

Wedge monitors or in-ear monitors: which should my team use?

Many teams use both. Wedges are simpler and cheaper for stationary positions like drums and keys. IEMs give mobile performers a personal mix, reduce stage volume, and improve monitor consistency, but cost more per channel.

How many stage monitors does a small stage need?

A typical small worship or band stage runs 3 to 5 wedge mixes: vocals, guitar/keys, and drums, with more added as the team grows.
