Powersoft Joins SoundPro: Meet the Unica Amplifier Platform

SoundPro is proud to welcome Powersoft to the lineup. Known across the pro audio world for pushing amplifier design forward, Powersoft brings the Unica platform to SoundPro customers: a compact, cloud connected install amplifier built to power houses of worship, campuses, theaters, and full AV integrations from a single rack space. With onboard DSP, Dante and AES67 networking, and models ranging from 5kW to 16kW, Unica gives your next install serious headroom without extra gear taking up rack space.

Meet Powersoft: One Amplifier Platform, Every Application

Our certified Account Managers will help you configure the right Powersoft system for your event needs, factor in your existing gear and setup, and put together a quote tailored to your touring or event application.

You're not just getting a box, you're getting a partner who knows the gear, the rooms it goes in, and what it takes to make the install actually work.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What makes the Powersoft Unica different from a standard install amplifier?

Unica is Powersoft's third generation fixed install amplifier platform, built around a completely redesigned input and output section for a higher signal to noise ratio than earlier Powersoft amplifiers. It packs onboard DSP, cloud connectivity, and multiple power options into a single compact 1RU chassis, so you get one consistent platform instead of juggling several amplifier families.

  • Can system integrators network and control multiple Unica amplifiers remotely?

Definitely. Unica includes three fully redundant Gigabit Ethernet ports with native Dante and AES67 support, so integrators can separate control traffic from audio over IP on a single network. Combined with Powersoft's MyUniverso cloud platform, integrators can remotely monitor amplifier status, manage projects, and push firmware updates from anywhere, which cuts down on truck rolls after installation.

  • How many channels and how much power does the Unica platform offer?

Unica comes in four channel models rated at 5kW, 9kW, 12kW, and 16kW, plus eight channel models rated at 1kW, 2kW, 4kW, and 8kW, all in the same 1RU footprint. Each channel can drive low impedance or 70/100V lines, and channels can be asymmetrically loaded for even more output when one zone needs extra power.

  • Is the Unica platform built to handle large campus venues like arenas and auditoriums?

It's built for exactly that kind of scale. Unica already powers campus venues including Lamar University's 10,746 seat Neches Arena and the University of San Diego's Jenny Craig Pavilion, both running high channel count Unica setups to replace aging amplifier racks. Its Easy Swap feature also lets integrators hot swap a unit in minutes if something needs replacing mid semester, with no reconfiguration required.

  • Is the Powersoft Unica a good fit for house of worship sound systems?

Yes. House of worship spaces need uniform, reliable sound distribution across large, often reflective rooms, and Unica's onboard DSP gives your integrator full control over that signal without adding external processors. It also plays nicely with third party control systems like Q-SYS, Symetrix, and Crestron, so it fits right into an existing worship AV setup.

  • What networking and DSP features come built into the Unica amplifier?

Every Unica model includes Powersoft's next generation DSP engine with linear phase FIR filters, advanced limiter architecture, and customizable presets, so tuning happens on the amplifier itself instead of through an external processor. On the networking side, you get three redundant Gigabit Ethernet ports, native Dante and AES67 audio over IP, and Smart Rails Management for real time power supply efficiency, all backed by an Eco Mode that shuts down idle channels to save energy between uses.
