The AJA OG-HI5-12G is designed for broadcast engineers, systems integrators, and live production facilities that need a reliable path from 12G-SDI infrastructure to HDMI 2.0 monitoring. The card drops into any openGear-compatible frame, making it a practical choice for dense rack environments where space and power efficiency are priorities alongside signal integrity.
In production environments ranging from broadcast control rooms to live event switching systems, the OG-HI5-12G handles the full range of SDI bit rates from 270 Mb up through 12G, passing signals in YCbCr 4:2:2, 4:4:4, 4:2:0, and RGB 4:4:4 at up to 12-bit depth. The reclocked SDI loop output keeps existing SDI pipelines intact, so adding an HDMI monitor does not interrupt downstream routing. HDR infoframe generation with pass-through or override for colorimetry and transfer characteristic makes it a practical tool for HDR grading and QC monitoring workflows.
Where competing HDMI converters often drop audio fidelity or omit immersive formats, the OG-HI5-12G passes PCM, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Digital Plus including Atmos JOC through to the HDMI output, with up to 100 frames of configurable audio delay. Fiber SFP-equipped variants extend reach for large venue or campus installations. Ross DashBoard software provides network-based monitoring and control across the entire openGear frame, and the card carries a five-year warranty.
