The C747 V11 from AKG is a professional shotgun condenser microphone. It’s equipped for brilliant sound reproduction in a variety of scenarios, including instrumental and overhead recordings. Its low-profile design makes it a great solution for inconspicuous miking applications such as public speaking.

Included with the AKG C747 V11 Condenser Shotgun Microphone is a shock mount, 5.5” (140mm)  gooseneck, stand adapter, clamp, screw link, and windscreen.

Based on a Classic

Legendary audio—updated for modern sound applications. Introduced in 1987, the C747 has always been characterized by technical specifications that exceed expectations. In particular, its wide and flat frequency range rapidly made it popular for recording a variety of instruments, while its low-profile build made it a favorite overhead mic.

The C747 is set apart by its ability to solve problems commonly faced by shotgun microphones. Its narrow polar pattern prevents crosstalk when recording multiple instruments at a time, as well as eliminated the pickup of noise from other parts of the room. Its acoustically-balanced, short interference tube avoids changing sound or level too much, even when the sound source is moving around. Because of this added freedom, the C747 quickly became a mainstay in broadcasting, recording studios, theaters, houses of worship, lecture halls, and conference rooms.

The V11 Model

The C747 V11 is the latest iteration of the classic build, with added features that enhance its usefulness in conference applications and installed sound systems. Its frequency response has been fine-tuned to highlight the spoken word, making it an ideal solution for noisy discussion groups or speakers moving around the microphone. Its hypercardioid polar pattern has been optimized for better control over ambient noise and feedback—even in the most acoustically-challenging spaces. In the age of wireless, integrated RFi shielding technology blocks unwanted interference by mobile phones, wireless mics, and other devices.
