The Alfatron Electronics ALF-21E-CODEC is a compact 2x1 auto presentation switcher designed for AV integrators deploying BYOD-ready collaboration spaces, huddle rooms, and boardrooms. It accepts one HDMI 2.0 source and one USB-C source, automatically routing the active input to a single HDMI 2.0 output at resolutions up to 4Kx2K at 60Hz. The switcher handles HDCP 2.2 protected content and passes HDR 10, making it a straightforward drop-in for modern display environments without compatibility compromises.
Beyond video routing, the unit addresses the practical demands of soft-codec conferencing setups. The USB-C port delivers up to 40W of charging power to connected laptops while simultaneously carrying 4K video and USB 3.0 data. Peripheral devices such as cameras and microphones connect via Type-A USB ports and are automatically switched alongside the active video input, keeping the host computer in sync without manual intervention. A balanced stereo analog audio output on a 5-pin terminal block enables clean audio de-embedding for room DSP or amplification with strong SNR and crosstalk isolation specs suited to professional install standards.
Control options cover front panel buttons, RS232, and CEC, so display power, muting, and volume can be managed from a single point. Smart EDID management accommodates a range of downstream displays and source devices. The low-profile form factor and wide operating temperature range make it practical for rack shelves, furniture cavities, or under-table mounting in permanent installs.
