The Alfatron Electronics ALF-MMX1616-N is a 3U rack-mountable modular matrix switcher chassis designed for AV integrators and system designers who need scalable, high-density signal routing in permanent installations. With 16 inputs and 16 outputs accommodated across four input card slots and four output card slots, the chassis adapts to a wide variety of signal environments by accepting interchangeable cards supporting HDMI, HDBaseT, SDI, and VGA formats. This modular approach makes it a practical choice for conference centers, university AV infrastructure, broadcast control rooms, and large corporate installations where signal requirements evolve over time and replacing an entire matrix is not cost-effective.
Control flexibility is built in from the front panel, with backlit buttons allowing direct matrix crosspoint selection without a connected controller. RS-232 serial control is standard, and optional TCP/IP network control allows integration with third-party room automation and control systems. The chassis also includes audio breakout switching, enabling embedded audio to be managed independently of the video path. A redundant power supply protects against downtime in mission-critical installations where signal continuity cannot be interrupted. The combination of front panel access, serial control, and optional IP control gives integrators the options needed to fit the chassis into virtually any control architecture.
