AtlasIED AL-IRDS Infrared Dome Sensor for Atlas Learn Systems

The AtlasIED AL-IRDS is purpose-built for integration into Atlas Learn amplified learning environments, providing reliable infrared signal pickup for installed AV applications in classrooms, conference rooms, and other multi-room facilities. It connects directly to the AL2430 amplifier/receiver via the included 10-meter RG6 coaxial cable, keeping the installation clean without requiring additional cabling purchases.

Infrared operation is a deliberate design choice for educational and corporate installs where RF congestion is a real concern. Unlike traditional wireless systems that share spectrum with Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones, and other 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz devices, the AL-IRDS operates on infrared frequencies that are immune to that interference. This also means signals are naturally contained within the room, preventing cross-talk bleed between adjoining spaces — a critical requirement in multi-room facilities running simultaneous sessions.

The AL-IRDS is compatible with both the AL-MYNA and AL-MAGPIE infrared wireless microphones, giving integrators flexibility in microphone selection for different room configurations. Its compact dome form factor supports both wall and ceiling tile mounting via the included bracket, making it straightforward to deploy in standard drop-ceiling environments common to K-12, higher education, and corporate AV installs.
