The AtlasIED CR212 ceiling-mount rack is designed for AV integrators who need to conceal electronic equipment above a drop ceiling without sacrificing serviceability or code compliance. The UL plenum-rated enclosure fits a half-space of a standard 1' x 2' ceiling tile grid, making it compatible with the most common commercial ceiling infrastructure. An open-frame door accepts a standard ceiling tile insert held by retainer tabs, so the installed rack visually disappears into the ceiling. Safety cables on the door and thumb-screw retention hardware ensure the assembly stays secure during both normal operation and service visits.
The AmbiTILT mechanism sets this rack apart from fixed-shelf alternatives by giving installers three distinct access methods: tilt the shelf forward by releasing the front cane bolts, tilt it rearward for rear-connector access, or remove the shelf entirely using the quick-release locking pins. This ambidextrous design dramatically reduces service time in confined overhead spaces. Four removable 4" square cover plates on the cabinet side panels accept custom connector plates for Ethernet, HDMI, XLR, NL4, RCA, or conduit knockout configurations, keeping signal routing clean and code-compliant.
Built in AtlasIED's Texas facility from 18AWG powder-coated steel, the CR212 is suited for permanent installs in conference rooms, classrooms, and corporate AV environments where long service life and quiet operation are required. The integrated power pack's whisper-quiet fan assembly supports continuous rack operation without audible interference in noise-sensitive spaces. Optional threaded rod rail kits (CR212TRK) and cable mounting kits (CR2CK) provide certified suspension methods for compliant overhead installation.
