The assembly includes the 6" coaxial driver, an enhanced 70.7V/100V step-down transformer, a front-mounted tap selector switch, and a finished front plate — everything required for a complete, code-compliant speaker installation in a single assembly. The transformer is optimized to minimize insertion loss and preserve low-frequency extension, making it appropriate for background music, paging, and voice evacuation systems where intelligibility and coverage consistency matter. A tuned port maximizes low-frequency output when paired with FA97-8 or FA95-8 enclosures.
The front-mounted tap selector supports wattage settings including a bypass position for 8-ohm direct-coupled operation, giving system designers flexibility during commissioning and simplifying future adjustments without removing the assembly.
