The AtlasIED FAP82T is engineered for integrators tackling high-ceiling commercial audio installations — retail environments, houses of worship, transportation hubs, and large open-plan facilities where wide-dispersion speakers fall short. Its 100-degree controlled dispersion pattern in the 2kHz octave band keeps SPL variance within acceptable limits at extended throw distances, preventing the comb filtering and uneven coverage that plague wider-coverage alternatives in the same ceiling height.

The coaxial driver pairing — a polypropylene cone woofer with butyl rubber surround and a PEI dome tweeter — is factory-assembled into a deep-drawn galvanized steel ported enclosure that extends low-frequency response down to 55Hz. The integrated 60-watt low-saturation transformer supports both 70.7V and 100V distributed systems with tap settings accessible from the front without demounting the speaker, simplifying commissioning and field adjustments in installed systems.

Practical install features set the FAP82T apart from competing in-ceiling transformered speakers: a 4-pole Phoenix-style detachable connector supports pre-wiring and daisy chaining, a trap-door conduit entry accommodates rigid or flex conduit runs, and an included eyebolt enables pendulum mounting in open-ceiling applications. The 8-ohm bypass setting on the tap selector also makes this compatible with low-impedance amplifiers when distributed audio is not required.
