AtlasIED FAPSUB-1 8" Tuned Ported In-Ceiling Subwoofer With Transformer

The AtlasIED FAPSUB-1 is engineered for AV integrators deploying distributed audio in commercial installs where full-range ceiling speakers need reinforced low-end without adding amplifier channels. The built-in 70.7V/100V transformer with six primary taps—1.9 through 60 watts—lets integrators balance the subwoofer against existing full-range speakers on the same 70V line, eliminating the cost and complexity of a dedicated sub amplifier or active crossover. A transformer bypass setting accommodates 8-ohm direct-coupled configurations, giving the system designer flexibility across different project architectures.

Installation is designed around real-world ceiling work: a C-ring/V-rail tile bridge and dog-leg mounting system handle both drop tile and sheetrock ceilings, while the easy-access input panel supports thru conduit runs with flexible or rigid conduit. The front-mounted tap selector switch lets technicians adjust tap settings after the speaker is installed without pulling it from the ceiling—a practical advantage during commissioning and system tuning on occupied sites. The Phoenix-style locking four-pole connector supports daisy-chain wiring to reduce home-run cable runs.
