The AtlasIED Digital Zone Manager is engineered for life-safety and large-scale paging installations where precise zone-level control and system integrity are non-negotiable. Designed to integrate directly with the IED 5400 Announcement Control System, it handles processing and management of paging zones while delivering line-level audio to a paired amplifier unit — making it the functional core of a distributed paging architecture in facilities such as transit hubs, hospitals, campuses, and public assembly venues.

Each output channel benefits from a full DSP chain including input level control, paging routing, automatic background music ducking, high and low pass filtering, parametric equalization, and delay — giving system integrators fine-grained tuning capability without external processing hardware. AtlasIED's patented ambient analysis automatically adjusts output levels in response to changing environmental noise conditions, a critical feature in high-traffic or acoustically variable spaces. Backup amplifier switching ensures continuity of paging operations by automatically transferring speaker loads to a backup amplifier when a primary failure is detected.

The unit mounts in a standard 19" equipment rack and uses front-to-back airflow cooling, making it compatible with typical AV and life-safety rack enclosures. Integrated supervision continuously monitors each signal path and reports faults to the 5400ACS, supporting the system-level accountability required in EN54-16 compliant installations.
