The AtlasIED MLE-1 is engineered specifically for audio communication in hazardous industrial environments where standard loudspeakers cannot be deployed safely. Designed for Class 1/Groups C & D rated areas, this compression driver meets the UL1203 safety standard for use around flammable gases and combustible atmospheres — making it a go-to specification for petrochemical facilities, offshore platforms, mining operations, and industrial processing plants.
The driver is housed in a rugged die-cast aluminum enclosure with 1/2" conduit access for clean, code-compliant wiring integration into permanent installations. An adjustable mounting bracket allows precise aim once the driver is positioned in the field. Two compatible projector horns — the polycarbonate HLE_MLE-30 for wide-area 120° x 60° coverage and the spun aluminum HLE_MLE-32 for 95° circular distribution — are available separately to match specific dispersion requirements. Only these two horns carry UL listing for use with the MLE driver line.
