The AtlasIED Q4612 is a 12-inch, 3-cubic-foot steel enclosure engineered for professional installed audio applications where acoustic performance and structural integrity are non-negotiable. It is built for sound contractors and AV integrators who require a reliable, code-appropriate enclosure for ceiling-mounted loudspeaker deployments in commercial, institutional, and hospitality environments.
Unlike bare steel enclosures that introduce coloration through vibration and resonance, the Q4612 incorporates a permanently affixed acoustical fiber board on the inner walls and 1.5-inch thick fiberglass lining rated at 1.5 lbs per cubic foot. These two elements work together to control high-frequency resonances and eliminate the metallic hangover that plagues standard enclosures. Unique ribs formed on the back panel add rigidity without added bulk, and an isolated foam gasket between the front mounting panel and the baffle ring prevents metal-to-metal contact that would otherwise degrade performance.
Compound knockouts on all four sides accommodate flexible conduit routing, and welded slotted mounting tabs on parallel sides accept QR30 mounting channels for clean ceiling installations. The 18-gauge cold rolled steel construction is finished in black textured epoxy. The Q4612 is designed for use with the 164-12A or 164-12A-052 baffle and pairs well with the C12BT60 driver, both sold separately.
