The AtlasIED SD72W is engineered for commercial audio integrators who need a reliable, spec-consistent in-ceiling speaker for distributed audio systems. Its sonic characteristics are intentionally aligned with the preceding C-Series lineup, allowing contractors to confidently maintain acoustic consistency when expanding or refreshing existing installations without requalifying speaker performance for a space.
The SD72W ships with a factory-installed 25/70.7V line matching transformer, making it ready for immediate integration into 70V distributed systems common in retail, hospitality, corporate, and house-of-worship environments. Tap selections from 0.25 to 5 watts give system designers precise control over coverage zones without additional hardware. The included CRS baffle features concealed mounting studs and standard hole patterns compatible with the majority of AtlasIED 8" tile bridges, mounting rings, and enclosures — dimensionally matching the AtlasIED Model 62-8 for direct hardware compatibility.
The curvilinear treated paper cone, full 1" copper voice coil, and black anodized aluminum former combine to support clean, low-distortion reproduction across a wide frequency range. The 105° dispersion angle supports broad even coverage in typical ceiling-height commercial spaces, reducing the number of speakers required per zone. UL 1480 and UL 2043 safety listings satisfy the compliance requirements for occupied building and plenum-rated installations.
