The AtlasIED SM82 Strategy Series surface mount loudspeaker is designed for systems integrators and AV engineers who need EN54-24 certified audio in demanding installed environments — including public address, mass notification, and commercial distributed audio systems where fire alarm compliance is required. The combination of a ferrofluid-cooled titanium dome high frequency driver and an 8" HYCONET treated woofer delivers reliable vocal clarity and musical intelligibility across venues ranging from transit terminals and retail spaces to houses of worship and educational facilities.
Installation flexibility is central to the SM82's design. The included C-bracket accommodates vertical or horizontal surface mounting, and four brass OC inserts on the rear accept OMNIMOUNT 30 series hardware for wall applications. Standard 1/4"-20 hardware inserts allow substitution of vandal-resistant security fasteners without modification. The sealed, screwdriver-selectable transformer switch provides six power tap settings — 1.9 through 60 watts — plus a direct-coupled 8Ω bypass, all protected by a tongue-in-groove cover with rubber grommet against moisture ingress.
For integrators working in architecturally sensitive spaces, the UV-resistant polypropylene enclosure and powder-coated aluminum grille can be painted to match any finish. The PolyGuard protection circuit guards against damaging transients at the high frequency section, reducing maintenance concerns in permanent installations where ongoing access is limited.
