AtlasIED SM8SUB70-B 8" Surface Mount Subwoofer With 70V Transformer

The AtlasIED SM8SUB70-B is designed for commercial audio installers specifying low-frequency reinforcement in restaurants, bars, and high-fashion retail environments where discreet, effective bass extension is required without a dedicated amplifier channel. Its 18 dB/octave three-pole passive crossover operates at 125 Hz, nearly eliminating subwoofer localization and allowing the enclosure to be boundary-loaded against a wall or into a corner for maximum output across the listening area.

The flyable wood enclosure includes multiple 1/4"-20 inserts for a variety of rigging configurations, and the unit accepts an optional SM8CBKT-B wall mounting bracket for surface installations. The internal 70.7V transformer can be bypassed entirely for 8-ohm direct operation, giving integrators flexibility across different system topologies. A 4-pole Speakon input is available for 8-ohm operation, while a barrier strip handles 70.7V, 100V, and parallel 8-ohm connections — accommodating a wide range of installation wiring practices.

Fuse protection is included to safeguard the driver, and the unique input panel is compatible with standard 4" square box covers such as the Raco 753, making this subwoofer a practical choice for installations where flex conduit termination is required. The SM8SUB70-B pairs directly with other SM series full-range speakers on the same 70.7V bus for cohesive foreground music systems. Not rated for outdoor use.
