Unlike transformer-based attenuators, the true VCA topology handles high-power music applications with greater efficiency and lower signal degradation, making it a practical choice for sports bars, hotels, restaurants, and multi-zone commercial installations where music and paging share the same infrastructure.
Each of the two channels accepts mic or line-level signals via Phoenix-style connectors, giving installers clean termination without breakout cables. The onboard mic preamps include switchable phantom power for condenser microphones and a defeatable high-pass filter to cut low-frequency rumble and feedback below the vocal range, keeping speech intelligibility intact. Input signal and peak LEDs provide at-a-glance level monitoring without requiring additional metering hardware.
The TSD-ML22VCA is designed to integrate within the broader AtlasIED TSD ecosystem. It draws only 70mA, so it is compatible with any TSD power supply—sold separately—and multiple units can share a single supply when sized correctly using the TSD Power Calculator. Security covers on all front panel controls protect settings in public-facing environments where tampering is a concern.
