The AtlasIED VP60R is engineered for installed audio applications where speaker protection and security are non-negotiable — transit terminals, correctional facilities, stadiums, and other high-traffic or high-risk environments. It accommodates a standard 8" cone loudspeaker or an APF Series re-entrant horn (horn installation requires adapter plate FAMT-6), giving integrators flexibility across a range of system designs.
The trim ring is cast from an aluminum alloy rated at 44,000 P.S.I. tensile strength, providing a measurable structural advantage over conventional cast aluminum hardware. A 3/4" shielding collar guards the speaker cone from direct contact, while the driver mounts to welded studs behind a perforated 22-gauge CRS plate. A stainless steel woven wire-mesh screen, positioned in front of the plate and reinforced with sealant on the inside, delivers a layered defense against impact, tearing, and forced entry.
Installation is secured with tamperproof heat-treated alloy screws using a supplied special wrench, with countersunk mounting holes for additional resistance to removal. The satin aluminum finish with acrylic coating suits both functional and aesthetically considered installs, making the VP60R a complete solution for recessed, vandal-resistant speaker deployment.
