The AT4047/SV Cardioid Condenser Microphone from Audio Technica delivers a rich, vintage sound for F.E.T. (non-tube) microphones in an advanced, technologically up-to-date build. This modern mic gets its classic sound from a transformer-coupled output and a specially-tuned element. The retro effect is rounded out by a vintage-style look complete with a silver-matte finish on the mic and its included shock mount.
Boasting a wide dynamic range, exceptionally low self-noise, and high SPL capability, the AT4047/SV’s dual-diaphragm capsule precisely maintains its cardioid polar pattern across the full frequency range. A precision-engineered acoustic element baffle of nickel-plated brass helps enhance the element’s stability and increase sound sensitivity, while the microphone’s open acoustical environment and symmetrical housing assembly minimize unwanted internal reflections. Also featured in this mic are a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter and a 10 dB pad.
Versatile and reliable, this studio mic is great for a wide variety of uses, including vocals, strings, acoustic guitar, instrument ensembles, small choral groups, and voiceovers. It is also a great miking choice for broadcast and other live sound applications. The AT4047/SV comes with a custom AT8449a/SV shock mount for 5/8"-27 threaded stands—allowing for even better sound isolation—as well as a microphone dust cover for safe storage and a protective carrying case for secure transport. As with all Audio-Technica microphones, every AT4047/SV features innovative surface-mount electronics that meet stringent standards of consistency and reliability.
