Its length of just over 9 inches and weight of 3.5 ounces lets you mount this mic with next to no heft to the end of a fish pole or the top of a minicam. Designed with a narrow acceptance angle, the shotgun mic effectively works for long-distance pickup. These features and more make this condenser microphone well-suited to broadcasting, film/TV production, and theater sound reinforcement applications.
Broadcast-quality sound comes through in multiple elements of the BP4073. Despite the short length, BP4073 provides the same directivity as other microphones up to 50% longer than its 9.2 inches. Highly directional polar pattern provides crisp and intelligible audio within the narrow acceptance angle. Direct-coupled balanced output keeps signal clean even in high-output environments. Switchable 10 dB pad lowers the microphone’s sensitivity, allowing the mic to withstand higher SPLs. Another switch for choosing between flat response or low-frequency roll off allows greater frequency control. Phantom power at 48V is required to operate this condenser microphone.
