Audio quality excels in components throughout this microphone. Narrow acceptance angle does not pick up ambient noise, focusing closely on sound source in front of mic. RFI-shielding technology provides superior rejection of interference from other signals. Shock mount and foam windscreen attenuate noise, shock, and vibrations from the room and mounting surface. Choose between flat response or low-frequency roll-off with a recessed switch to further curb undesired ambient noise. Integral 80 Hz high-pass filter enables easy switching from flat response to low-frequency roll-off. 11V to 52V of phantom power is required to operate this condenser microphone.
In addition to sound performance, physical attributes of the gooseneck make it well-suited for quality sound reinforcement, professional recording, TV, and other demanding sound pickup environments. Double gooseneck design allows for highly flexible positioning, allowing adjustments for application and personal preference. Rugged housing is covered in low-reflectance black finish, protecting the mic during adjustments, and avoiding glare of lights into the room.
Different configurations of U857 allow choices of desired height from mounting surface and acceptance angle of 90 or 120 degrees.
