The Avantone Pro KICK is a moving coil dynamic microphone engineered specifically for sub-frequency capture on kick drums and other large low-frequency sources. At its core is the AV10-MLF driver, an 18cm single continuous press-formed cone unit that replicates the classic white cone character prized in both studio and live production environments. The press-formed construction tightens manufacturing tolerances, giving engineers consistent frequency response from unit to unit, which matters when mic choices need to be repeatable across touring rigs or multi-room studio facilities.
The KICK is housed in a real birch ply drum shell fitted with a 10-inch mesh head, making it a physical instrument in its own right rather than a mic simply pointed at a source. That design choice shapes the acoustic environment around the driver before the signal ever hits a preamp, contributing directly to the broad, massive low-end character the mic is known for.
