The Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF Body is built for cinematographers and production teams who already own compatible accessories and want to build a fully custom camera rig around the URSA Cine platform without paying for redundant gear. The camera ships with an EF lens mount as standard, a dual CFexpress media module, and a full DaVinci Resolve Studio license. PL and LPL mounts are available separately, and optional items such as shoulder mounts, handles, battery plates, and the 8TB media module can be added as the production requires. There are no compromises in sensor performance, feature set, or I/O compared to full URSA Cine kit configurations.
At the core is a full frame 36 x 24mm RGBW 12K sensor with a multi-scale design and symmetrical color filters that enable in-sensor scaling. Cinematographers can record in 12K, 8K, or 4K at full sensor size, choosing the resolution that fits the deliverable. High frame rate capture reaches 80 fps at 12K open gate, 144 fps at 8K open gate, and up to 224 fps at 8K 2.4:1. Generation 5 Color Science and a precision-matched optical low pass filter with updated IR filtering work together to preserve fine detail and accurate color response across all recording modes. Blackmagic RAW captures camera metadata, lens data, white balance, and custom LUTs inline with the image data.
On-set workflow is supported by dual 5-inch HDR touchscreen monitors, a dedicated assist station, built-in ND filters, and industry standard 7-pin Lemo and 3-pin Fischer connectors for remote control and accessory power. The magnesium alloy chassis and carbon fiber polycarbonate composite skin keep weight manageable for fast-moving set conditions. Integrated RTMP and SRT streaming with 10G Ethernet, high-speed Wi-Fi, and mobile data connectivity enables direct upload of H.264 proxy files to Blackmagic Cloud, putting media in the DaVinci Resolve media bin while cameras are still rolling on set.
