The Blackmagic Design URSA Cine 12K is engineered for professional cinematographers, digital imaging technicians, and high-end production teams who require maximum image latitude and resolution without sacrificing on-set workflow efficiency. The 36 x 24mm large format RGBW sensor with enlarged photo-sites captures 16 stops of dynamic range across resolutions from 4K up to 12K, in aspect ratios spanning open gate 3:2 through 2.4:1 anamorphic, with high-speed options reaching up to 224 fps at select formats. PL and EF lens mounts are both included, with active lens control and automatic i/Technology metadata population for compatible glass, making the camera a practical fit for narrative film, episodic television, and high-budget commercial production.

On-set efficiency is addressed through a dedicated assist station with a second 5" HDR LCD touchscreen, button-activated ND filters in 2, 4, and 6-stop steps, and seven assignable shortcut keys. The 8TB removable Blackmagic Media Module eliminates the card-juggling common to competing large format cameras, while 10G Ethernet and integrated WiFi enable direct Blackmagic Cloud uploads, FTP transfers, SMB file sharing, and Web Media Management from any networked browser. Industry-standard Lemo and Fischer connectors, dual SDI outputs supporting up to 12G, and REST API control over Ethernet or WiFi round out the connectivity profile for integration into complex multi-camera or remote-operation setups.

DaVinci Resolve Studio is included with an activation key, and Blackmagic RAW recording at constant bitrate or constant quality settings covers everything from archival acquisition to delivery-ready proxy workflows. The camera ships in a custom-foamed Pelican 1510 case with handle, baseplate, battery plate, WiFi antennas, and both PL and EF body caps, providing a production-ready kit from day one.
