The Blackmagic Design BMD-CONVNVIPE/IP/HDMISFP is built for broadcast engineers and AV integrators who need to terminate SMPTE ST-2110 IP video streams at HDMI displays — large-format screens, projectors, or computer monitors — without running additional cabling infrastructure across a facility. Its minimal footprint allows it to mount directly behind a display, keeping IP-over-fiber infrastructure clean in control rooms, broadcast sets, and multi-screen installations.

The converter accepts 10G Ethernet optical fiber via a standard SFP socket, which also supports 3G, 6G, and 12G SDI modules for hybrid IP and SDI environments. SMPTE ST-2110 compliance covers uncompressed video, traffic shaping, PCM audio, and ancillary data including closed captioning, RP 188 timecode, and HDR static metadata. NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 support enables integration into managed IP production networks with standardized discovery and connection management workflows.

For teams transitioning from SDI to IP or running mixed infrastructures, this converter handles up to 16 channels of embedded audio on the ST-2110 IP input and delivers 8 channels of embedded audio on the HDMI output. Precision Time Protocol (PTP v2 / IEEE 1588-2008) ensures frame-accurate sync across IP production systems. Configuration is handled via USB-C or remotely over the same 10G Ethernet connection used for video, with compatibility for Mac and Windows systems running current operating system versions.
