The Blackmagic Design BMD-CONVNVIPF/IP/12G is built for broadcast engineers and camera operators who need to bridge 12G-SDI cameras into SMPTE ST-2110 IP infrastructure without adding bulk to the camera rig. Unlike single-direction converters, this unit handles both the outgoing SDI camera feed and the incoming SDI program return in a single compact body, eliminating the need for a separate return video converter at each camera position.

The integrated 5-pin XLR talkback headset connection sets this converter apart from comparable IP conversion boxes. A dedicated talkback volume control and press-to-talk button are built in, giving camera operators a complete communications solution without external accessories. The unit supports SD, HD, and Ultra HD standards up to 2160p60, covering current and next-generation broadcast formats. Power comes from the RJ-45 10G Ethernet port via PoE or from the included DC supply, keeping the cable count minimal in live production environments.
