The Blackmagic Design SmartView 4K G3 is engineered for broadcast engineers, live production directors, and systems integrators who need a full-resolution 3840x2160 confidence monitor that works natively inside modern IP video infrastructures. Unlike SDI-only rack monitors that require external conversion, this unit accepts SMPTE-2110 IP video directly via its built-in optical SFP and 10GbE copper connections, eliminating conversion hardware and the latency and signal integrity risks that come with it.
Two 12G-SDI inputs with auto-switching across SD, HD, 3G, 6G, and 12G rates make the SmartView 4K G3 equally capable in traditional SDI facilities, mobile production trucks, and hybrid environments running both SDI and IP simultaneously. NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 support means it integrates cleanly into orchestrated IP routing systems without proprietary workarounds. On-screen tools including H/V delay, blue-only mode, zoom, and focus peaking give operators the critical analysis capabilities needed during live transmission, OB van operation, or master control monitoring.
The six rack unit form factor and IEC-standard AC input make installation straightforward in any standard rack environment. Firmware and configuration are managed via USB or Ethernet, and compatibility with current Mac and Windows operating systems ensures long-term serviceability.
