The ChamSys CHAMRACKDONGLE is a compact USB solution for fixed systems that need MagicQ PC software available beyond demo-mode limitations without adding a larger interface to the rack. It is designed for installation environments where space matters and where a small-form-factor unlock device is a better fit than a dual DMX interface. For control rooms, themed environments, architectural projects, and other permanent setups, it provides a practical way to keep a rack-mounted computer ready for MagicQ operation.
In addition to enabling access to restricted MagicQ PC functions, the dongle also unlocks all 8 layers of MagicHD standalone when MagicHD is not being controlled by a ChamSys console. With the dongle connected, MagicQ can also use 3rd-party and virtual MIDI interfaces for MIDI note input, which can be useful in integrated control workflows. ChamSys notes that USB MIDI playback triggering is limited to the first 10 playbacks of MagicQ.
