City Theatrical 1400 6 1/4" Right-Angle Beam Bender For Ellipsoidals

Lighting designers and production electricians reach for a beam bender when a fixture's normal orientation gets in the way. It places the light output at a right angle to the fixture, so a unit can point horizontally and throw light straight down, or point straight down and throw light horizontally. That solves placement problems that would otherwise force a different fixture or a different hang position.

Typical applications include shooting around obstructions, working under low grids where a fixture aimed straight down would itself become an obstruction, and rigging on dance sidelight booms to cover the maximum of dancers' legs without washing the floor. It suits theatres and studios with low ceilings, where hanging close to the ceiling and bending the beam downward recovers vertical space.

The concept came from lighting designer Jules Fisher, and City Theatrical built the first units for his New York production of A Christmas Carol. This 6 1/4" model is not for Source Four Zoom fixtures, so confirm your fixture type before ordering. For rental houses and venues that need an answer for tight positions, it is a purpose-built option rather than a workaround.
