City Theatrical 1402 S4 Mini Beam Bender For Ellipsoidal Fixtures

The Beam Bender solves a placement problem common in theatres, studios, and dance venues: the fixture body does not fit where the light needs to land. A mirror assembly turns the output a quarter turn, so a unit can sit horizontally and throw its light straight down, or hang pointing down and send light out sideways. Designers use it to work around architecture and scenery, and to keep a fixture from intruding on the sightline or the work space beneath a low grid.

This S4 Mini version is the compact member of the City Theatrical Beam Bender range, which also includes 6 ¼ inch and 7 ½ inch sizes plus versions for ColorSource Spot Jr. and Altman Phoenix fixtures. Choose it when a theatre or studio crew wants a purpose-built bender rather than improvised hardware, and when predictable, repeatable results matter from one venue to the next.

The concept came from lighting designer Jules Fisher, and City Theatrical built the first units for his New York production of A Christmas Carol. That origin shows in the focus on real production problems: low ceilings, crowded hangs, and sidelight positions where every inch counts.
