City Theatrical Safer Sidearm | 1/2" Pipe | Original

Safer Sidearms are made for lighting designers, production electricians, rental shops, and venue technicians who hang fixtures off vertical pipe and need the arm to hold up under modern equipment. Heavier fixtures put real demand on a side-mounting arm, and a basic clamp-and-arm setup concentrates that stress at a single point.

City Theatrical publishes load ratings for each model, which gives crews a clear answer when a rigging plan or venue asks what the arm can carry. The family covers two jobs. Original models handle standard lighting positions, while bigger, more rugged Steel models are aimed at speakers and moving lights. Always confirm the rating for your specific model, and the arm length where one applies, against the fixture before you hang it.

Compared with generic clamp-on arms, a purpose-built, load-rated sidearm is easier to justify on a rigging plan. It suits theatrical productions, touring and concert rigs, corporate events, and permanent venue installs where fixtures sit off a vertical pipe. Pipe size is the main fitment check, so match the model to the vertical pipe in your rig.
