City Theatrical 2190 Colortran Style Sandwich Gobo Template Holder

Metal gobos warp when lamp heat builds in the gate, and warped patterns mean soft edges, shifted images, and replacements mid-run. This holder is aimed at lighting designers, master electricians, and theatre or venue crews who run stainless steel templates in Colortran 5/50 Series fixtures and want those patterns to last through a full production.

The sandwich arrangement clamps a pattern between metal plates so it stays flat, and the metal body pulls heat away from the gobo rather than letting it soak. That matters on repertory shows, touring rigs, and house inventories where the same patterns come out night after night. Because the plates handle the heat, you protect the gobo investment instead of treating patterns as consumables.

Changes happen close to hot fixtures, often under time pressure at focus calls or between scenes. The plastic pulls give you something safe to grab, so crews can swap patterns without reaching for gloves or waiting for the unit to cool. Compared with bare gobos dropped straight into the gate, a dedicated holder gives a more repeatable, more serviceable setup for permanent installs and rental stock alike.
