City Theatrical 2220 Gantom 1 Barndoor For Beam Shaping Wash Lights

Wash fixtures such as Source Four PARs, LED washes, and fresnels throw a soft beam with a wide spread and no defined edge. That light often lands on scenery, backdrops, or stage areas where it does not belong. A barndoor lets the operator trim the beam at the fixture instead of living with unwanted spill.

This accessory is aimed at lighting designers, master electricians, and production crews working in theatre, touring, corporate events, and house-of-worship installs who need quick, repeatable beam trimming during focus. Because the leaves are adjustable, a bright edge on a backdrop or a stray wash on a scenic element can be shuttered during focus without swapping fixtures.

Compared with improvised flags or tape, a purpose-built barndoor gives a repeatable, adjustable cutoff at the fixture and stays with the unit through load-in, strike, and repertory changeovers. Confirm fit against your fixture's accessory dimensions before ordering, since City Theatrical sizes its barndoors to specific fixtures and models. The dimensions listed in the specs help you verify clearance in a crowded rig.
