City Theatrical 2364 6 1/4" Source Four Flameproof Color Frame

This Mainframe is built for lighting designers, production electricians, and theatre or event shops that go through large quantities of color and need frames that do not eat into the budget. Because each frame is disposable, a full plot can be framed without the weight and cost of reusable frames, which simplifies packing, shipping, and load-in for touring and one-off productions alike.

It is sized for 6 1/4" Source Four fixtures and suits the job of getting color into hard edge ellipsoidals quickly. City Theatrical notes that the fiber material will not burn, though some hot wash lights can dry it and cause cracking, so match it to fixtures with a focused beam rather than wash units. Frames are lavender, and the manufacturer cannot guarantee the exact shade supplied.

Compared with reusable frames, the value is in volume: stock them by the stack, close each one with a staple, and replace instead of repair. The same product line covers many other fixture sizes, so a shop can standardize on one frame family across its inventory.
